Neighborhood Guide
Living in Tampa Heights
Tampa Heights blends some of Tampa's oldest neighborhood history with one of the city's most visible areas of reinvestment and growth. Located just north of Downtown, the neighborhood offers historic homes, newer construction, local businesses, parks, and convenient access to the Hillsborough River and central Tampa.
One of the area's best-known destinations is Armature Works and the surrounding Heights District, where restaurants, community events and waterfront spaces have helped transform this stretch of the river. Water Works Park and the Tampa Riverwalk add another dimension to the neighborhood and make Downtown feel remarkably close.
Residential Tampa Heights has a character all its own. Historic architecture and older homes sit alongside renovated properties and newer construction, which means buyers can encounter very different homes—and very different considerations—from one block to another.
For buyers who want character and proximity to Downtown without necessarily living in the middle of Downtown, Tampa Heights is an area worth exploring. For homeowners and sellers, understanding the differences between the neighborhood's historic housing stock, renovated homes and newer construction is especially important when positioning a property.
